Our home in Staten Island
Our Lady of Zeitoun Coptic Orthodox Church is part of the Diocese of New York & New England. We gather at St. Mary Christian Center, 500 Todd Hill Rd, Staten Island.
In April 2026, our parish marked the tenth anniversary of the purchase of St. Mary Christian Center and the founding of Our Lady of Zeitoun Church. The parish announcement also welcomed Bishop David’s pastoral visit and celebrated the opening of the Three Saintly Youth Lounge.

Who we are
A church family, growing together
Our life together begins with prayer. We gather for the Divine Liturgy, vespers, and midnight praises, carrying the worship of the Coptic Orthodox Church into our week.
Faith for every generation
Learning and fellowship are part of that life. St. Augustine youth meetings give young people a place to grow in faith, while Fireproof brings college students and graduates together for spiritual teaching and fellowship.
Worship and fellowship in English
At St. Moses & St. Mary of Egypt, our English ministry gathers for the Divine Liturgy and spiritual teaching. Together, our parish and English ministry help our church family share the same faith across languages and generations.
Come and be part of our parish
Whether you are visiting a Coptic Orthodox church for the first time or looking for a parish home, you are welcome to join us in prayer, meet our clergy, and get to know the community. See the weekly schedule to find a service or meeting.

Our name
Our Lady of Zeitoun, the Mother of Light
The name Our Lady of Zeitoun recalls the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at her church in Zeitoun, Cairo, beginning on April 2, 1968. The Coptic Orthodox Church’s papal statement describes appearances in luminous form above the church’s domes, witnessed by those gathered there.
The apparition church is in Cairo, Egypt. Our parish is in Staten Island, New York, and shares this beloved dedication to the Mother of Light.
